About Kenzer

I am a web programmer. I write this not as my day job, but as my passion. When I was 5, I watched my dad program in BASIC on our TI-99. When I was 12, I won my first computer honors from school. When I was 16, I started writing in GW BASIC. In college, I learned a few new languages as well as developed my first website in 1997 for the Nevada Small Business Development Center.

Thanks the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno, I can think in code and speak in laymen. Due to this, my career at Twelve Horses has evolved from programmer to project manager to business development. I now get to strategize and architect Internet solutions for clients like JP Morgan/Chase, Deloitte & Touche and IGT.

I am married to a brilliant psychologist, Amy Kenzer. She works for the Center for Autism and Related Disorders as Research Manager. She also has begun teaching classes at Arizona State University. Recently she testified in front of the Arizona State Senage committee helping a new bill get passed to mandate insurance coverage for Autism.

We have two kids, Mayah and Tyler. I obsessively take pictures and post them on thekenzers.com.

My geek card has attempted to be pulled due to my love of sports. I start every morning watching Sports Center on ESPN. I’m not sure what it is about geekness and sports that don’t gel, but it’s rare I find fellow programmers who enjoy sports like I do. Of course being in Phoenix, go Diamondbacks and Suns. I’ve been a Raiders fan for as long as I can remember so it’s tough to switch to the Cardinals.

    Josh:

Despite my father’s fears, Carol, Ben, and I are fine. I talked to him tonight on the phone. Do you have your father and Uncle Ed’s email addresses?

I hope you and your family are doing well.

    Best,

    Uncle Bob
