While I’m far from a fan of Microsoft, Yahoo doesn’t do much for me either. I have tried countless times to use their products and services. Y! search, yahoo mail, my.yahoo.com, etc…
None of them are compelling enough to continue to use. They just can’t seem to pull together innovation. The services I do use, Flickr, Del.icio.us and Upcoming, they have all bought and left alone.
Microsoft’s Internet strategy has been much the same. Let’s try and do what the other are doing and see if we can do it better - here’s a hint, they havn’t. So I am inclined to agree with Mark Cuban (link below). At least this will let more Y! employees keep their jobs.
